Buttermere
Welcome to Buttermere!
Buttermere Class – This is our Early Years Class – children in Nursery and Reception are taught by Mrs Baker and are supported by Miss Scott and Miss Orr.
Here in Buttermere Class we strive to create an inclusive and nurturing, learning rich environment. Where children enjoy fun learning activities alongside learning through play and exploring in our indoor and outdoor areas.
In school we encourage children to read at least 3 times a week at home- if they do, they will be entered into the weekly reading raffle and be in with a chance of winning a prize! Children in Buttermere class will be sent home with a new book every Friday and are asked to return them the following Friday.
Our PE days this half term are Mondays and Tuesdays. Please can all children come to school in their PE kits on these days.
Buttermere Class’ frogs 🐸
Over the last few moths, Buttermere Class have been caring for tadpoles as they developed through their lifecycle and transitioned into frogs. The children loved observing every stage of the frogs transitions; from them being inside their frogspawn eggs, to becoming tadpoles, then froglets and finally turning into energetic and bouncy frogs!
This topic has encouraged fantastic use of new vocabulary and has given the children the opportunity to use their observational skills. Many of the children has used the resources in our investigation area to record (write or draw) what they have been able to see during each stage of the process.
