Food Bank
Today, the KS2 Councillors went to the foodbank warehouse at Cockermouth. Stuart invited us after coming in to school to lead an assembly about the importance of the Food Bank.
We got to see all the foodbank donations and what happens to food when it arrives at the foodbank. We got to name our tin like Timmy the tin of Tuna and see where the food tin goes after it is donated. First of all we had to write on the best before date then we put our tins into boxes that match it's best before date. This is so food doesn't get wasted.
We got to pack up a couples package and had to write down the dates of each of the tins we included. We also got to pick one extra item for the food packages. We picked Malteaser Reindeers, lemonade, and oil! Stuart told us that our package would go out to a couple within the next week.
Thank you for all your food donations!
Jenson, Mia, Eleanor and Bobby.
