Mothers Day Event
On Friday 25th March, once again, Mrs Hetherington held a Mother’s Day sale in school. This was the 31st year that this event has taken place, and despite Covid-19 impacting the school in the last few weeks, we were able to go ahead with this wonderful event.
Over the years, hundreds of children have ‘secretly’ bought presents for Mums and Grans., whilst raising funds for school at the same time. Many items were donated by families and friends of the school, as well as Mrs Hetherington herself, making a tremendous number of handmade gifts to sell. As a result of this, all monies raised went straight into funds to benefit all the children in Oughterside Foundation School and Nursery.
Gift prices ranged from £1.00 to £5.00, trying to keep prices reasonable and provide value for money. All items were individually wrapped, giving them a personal touch!
A huge thank you to Mrs Hetherington and her helpers, making the event a great success. We raised over £225 for school funds.
Oughterside Triathlon
Mrs Bonington – Class 2 teacher, Mr Sowerby a parents and Mrs Jardine our Headteacher are competing in three challenges to make an Oughterside Triathlon.
The pupils have written to local businesses to request sponsorship and donations for these events. The money raised will be used to improve the playground and playtimes for the pupils.
