Welcome
Welcome to Oughterside Foundation School
Our vision, values and ethos
Our vision is as clear as the view from our school.
This is a small, happy school where children feel safe, comfortable and supported.
We seek to create a challenging learning environment that encourages high expectations for success, but acknowledge the individual differences and learning styles that our children have. We encourage each child to develop their skills and personality within a caring environment.
Because out children are listened to and valued, they feel they belong and thus continue and grow. They will learn to take responsibility, show tolerance, build their self-esteem and develop their self-confidence.
School will drive its own improvement, set its own challenging targets and recognise for the sake of our learners we can always do better.
We strive to make children confident and creative builders of their future. Our focus is on the whole child. Our students are encouraged to meet academic challenges with openness, enthusiasm, and a willingness to solve problems. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. We will combine high standards with a broad, balanced and rich curriculum. Education will be the fusion of excellence and enjoyment.
We believe that if a child is understood, feels cared for, nurtured and is happy, then they will thrive and achieve. We believe that we can provide this environment for every individual in our care.
