Whole School Working Scientifically
Spring Whole School Science
As part of Science week we decided to have a whole school science investigation. This enabled us to focus on how our working scientifically skills progressed throughout school whilst having lots of fun planning our own investigations.
Our key question to explore this term was:
What is the fastest method to dissolve a gummy bear?
Buttermere
Windermere
Crummock
Crummock Class split into two groups and designed their own investigations independently.
One team wanted to try different liquids. After learning about acids in our digestion topic, they believed vinegar would dissolve gummy bears quickly as we have acid in our stomach to break up food.
The second team thought using heat would help dissolve the gummy bear as they knew jelly cubes dissolve in boiling water.
