Bee Week in KS2 - Extracting Honey
Tue 12 Jul 2022We've had an exciting start to Bee Week in KS2! We are very fortunate to have a parent who actually has their own bee hive at home. Mrs Berkeley kindly let us use her equipment to extract honey from two honeycombs that she had taken from her hive on Sunday.
The children across KS2 took turns to use the honey extractor and we were all amazed with the amount of honey that we extracted..... 6 jars! We never expected so much honey to come from only two honeycombs. It was amazing to actually see where the honey came from and be involved in the process. Both classes got to taste the honey this morning as we had honey on toast before breaktime and it was a big hit!
A big thank you to Mrs Berkeley for letting us use her equipment and for enabling us to have this experience in school.

Read and Relax
Fri 08 Jul 2022Today, Miss Bradley held a 'Read and Relax' session. Parents of children in EYFS and KS1 were invited in to choose books to read and share with their little ones, in a calming environment.
It was a great success with a wonderful turn-out. Thank you to everyone who attended.
